Last Wednesday was our first VAPA day. At 11:20, students had music and dance class. In shared reading, we reviewed thick and thin questions, and learned about the different types of text structures. Students also learned about the various types of text and graphic features that can be found in texts. Students learned about what a 4th grade paragraph needs to include and we use the acronym "RACE": Restate the question, Answer the question, Cite the evidence, and Explain how the evidence proves your answer to the question. In math, students learned how to round, rename, add, and subtract multi-digit numbers to the hundred thousands place.
